What is RSS?
RSS is short for Really Simple Syndication. It's an XML file that can be read by special feed reading software or a web service you can use from your web browser. Put the address of one of our web feeds into your reader, or cut and paste the code where prompted and it will display the latest postings as they come in, each one with a link that will take you to the full posting.
That means you can stay in touch with GAP news and information if you choose not to have postings emailed and it's quicker than revisiting a site several times a day to check for updates .Rather than having to look for new postings, feed readers scan for updates and display them for you.
How to use RSS feeds
To view our web feeds you need software called a feed reader or aggregator. The following Feed reader is free to download

RssReader is 100% spy and adware free!
Once you have installed a feed reader you can add GAP feeds by clicking on RSS next to the posting or check here for updates. Setting up a feed differs from one aggregator to another, but it usually involves copying the URL of the feed (from the address bar on your browser) and pasting it into the reader.
Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera and Safari, have functionality which automatically pick up RSS feeds for you. For more details on these, please check their websites.
Technical Q&A
What version of RSS do you use? At the present time our feeds use the RSS 2.0 specification. The feeds give the date, time, and advisory number in a fixed format for the latest advisories, along with the link to the advisory itself.
Why is the XML logo on the page? The XML logo is currently in use across the Internet to indicate to users that RSS feeds are available from the site. XML stands for eXtensible Markup Language, and is the basic lingo of the RSS technology.
